New Arirang is very large, russetted Asian pear. Fruits sometimes can average over 1 pound. It has an excellent, distinctive flavor and a high sugar content. It remains crisp even if kept in non-refrigerated coolers up into late March. It ripens late in the season in mid-October.
New Arirang originated as a sport of A-Ri-Rang from Korea.
Pollinate New Arirang with other Asian pears for best results. Clip the stems of the fruit when harvesting.
