If you really want to try grafting or budding your own, we offer small quantities of some select rootstocks. Good luck! You might be better off to let Grandpa do them for you, because there are a lot of tricks that he has learned over time! But no matter, sometimes you just have to try "doing it yourself". The joy and excitement of growing your own tree is rewarding.
We cannot ship any stock to California , Hawaii, Canada or outside the USA.
LATE WINTER OR SPRING AVAILABILITY ONLY! Order by the EACH or in bundles of 10 or 25 of the same rootstock. Please indicate when you would like it and how you are planning to use it--- bench grafting, budding, etc--- so we have a better idea of whether or not we can ship it to you in time. 1/4" is the typical choice for bench grafting as it usually matches the size of the scionwood better. 3/8" can be used for bench grafting if the scionwood is larger, but it makes a great choice for lining out and budding in the summer. We do not offer commercial pricing for larger quantities on Grandpa's Orchard. Thanks!
SHIPPING CHARGES NOTE: We will usually adjust your shipping charges when ordering rootstock by itself as our shipping calculator does not calculate correctly for rootstock. When ordered with trees, we can ship in the same box for no extra charges. When ordered by itself, it may ship for less. If you have questions, contact us.
Due to phytosanitary restrictions and concerns Grandpa will not accept orders or ship any Stone fruit or other Prunus species rootstock to CA or HI and the following counties in Colorado---Alamosa, Conejos, Costilla, Mesa, Rio Grande, Saguache Counties. We may limit shipping of certain varieties to the following states--- ID, OR, WA--- depending on their source and virus-free certification status. We cannot ship any stock to CANADA or outside the USA.
Note: Planting a variety outside of its normal Hardiness Zone will void our normal replacement policy. Please be careful in your selections!
