Print this pagePeaches and Nectarines come in more "flavors" than just yellow flesh. The two most unique types are:
Peento or "donut" type peaches or nectarines. Peento types are noted for having essentially no pit or stone, and thus they take on a flat, donut-type shape. They usually have excellent firmness and exceptional flavor. Take more care in harvesting them as you can often pull out a "plug" of skin at the stem end.
White-fleshed peaches and nectarines are becoming more available, and they are usually noted for their fine, tasty flesh and aromatic bouquets. Often they are a little more tender to harvest, and their flavors can range widely.
Peaches can be fairly easy to grow, but do not expect good luck if you are trying to grow them in Hardiness Zones 4 or colder--- you are just not in stone fruit territory! Remember to prune trees adequately late in the spring to maintain vigor and to thin the fruit heavily to get good size. Try to thin to 6-10 inches between fruits on vigorous trees. Almost all peach varieties are self-fertile, so ONE tree can be planted without another variety to pollinate it without problem.

We may limit shipping of certain varieties to the following states--- ID, OR, WA--- depending on their source and virus-free certification status. We cannot ship any stock to CANADA or outside the USA.
