  • Summary
  • Hardiness Zone & More

Sierra is an excellent pear, similar to Bartlett, but of finer quality.  It is fine texture, thin skinned, and must be grown with care because of its tender fruit quality.  Ripens with Anjou in mid-September.  Stores well.  Moderately scab and fire blight resistant.  Good for the backyard grower.

Sierra was bred in British Columbia and introduced in 1969.
