Quinte Apple
Malus domestica 'Quinte'
- Summary
- Hardiness Zone & More
Quinte is one of the earliest quality summer apples to eat. The fruit is crisp, juicy and tasty with a red blush over a yellow skin. It doesn't store well, but does harvest over a period and require several pickings. The tree is vigorous and very hardy. Ripens in July near Lodi and Yellow Transparent.
Quinte was developed in Canada and introduced around 1964. Grandpa grew them for a while for the market, but because they don't ship as well, they didn't last too long on the farm. But they were a nice early apple!
