Nova EasyGro resembles Cortland in looks and ripening period. The fruit is only medium sized, round, with a stripy blush over a pale greenish yellow background. The flesh is creamy white, smooth, firm, crisp, moderately juicy with a sub-acid pleasant flavor. It keeps well and is an excellent choice for the backyard orchard as it is scab resistant. Ripens in early October. Blooms with McIntosh.
Nova Easygro was bred in Nova Scotia, Canada and introduced in 1971. It has a complex heritage of many apple crosses
Nova Easygro is a regular bearer and has a moderately vigorous spreading habit. It has excellent resistance to scab and cedar apple rust, and moderate resistance to fire blight and mildew.
