Kinsei Apple
Malus domestica 'Kinsei'
- Summary
- Hardiness Zone & More
Kinsei is a Japanese selection that resembles Golden Delicious, but with more russet and a sweeter flavor. The apples are slightly aromatic and low acid with firm creamy, white flesh. It is reported to store quite well. We are not sure of the ripening or bloom time at this time.
The Japanese typically prefer very sweet apples. Kinsei was selected as a Ralls Janet X Golden Delicious cross in 1972.
We are not sure if there are any notable disease or insect resistances to this apple, so treat it as if it had none.
