- Summary
- Hardiness Zone & More
JerseyMac apple is a very early McIntosh type apple that ripens in early summer in late July. It is an attractive, medium sized apple with predominatly red skin over a light yellow background. The flesh is whitish-yellow, crisp, juicy, and has a tasty, aromatic flavor similar to McIntosh. It is an early bloomer. Keeps fairly well for such an early, summer apple.
JerseyMac is a complicated cross of many varieties that was bred in New Jersey and introduced in 1971. It was a very good summer apple for its season, and Grandpa grew many on the farm.
