Grandpa's Big Gala is a special selection of Gala that just grows larger than a normal Gala. The fruit is similar in other respects. Not highly colored, but an excellent eating and all purpose apple. It is suspected to be a tri-ploid, so it requires pollination from other varieties than Gala and Golden Delicious.
