Black Limbertwig is one of the best cider apples with a hard, aromatic flesh and a greenish skin covered with a dull red blush. It is good for fresh eating, pies and jelly, but especially for cider.
Once a well-known Southern apple dating back to late 1700's Georgia. Known to many as the "Old Fashion Limbertwig" because it is the oldest, there are around 20 types of Limbertwigs, which are named so because of the droopy nature of their limbs.
A late winter keeper that ripens in October.
