Transcendent Flowering Crab
Malus z 'Transcendent Crab'
- Summary
- Hardiness Zone & More
The Transcendent Crab is one of the largest of the Siberian crab apples - medium to large, round-oval fruit that is flattened at the ends with a long slender stem, a open cavity and closed calyx. Golden yellow with a rich crimson cheek, the skin is sometimes nearly covered with red. Its fine flavored flesh is juicy and creamy yellow making it good for fresh eating and excellent for jelly. Blossoms are pink and white and emit a wonderful perfume!
Transcendent Crab is often used by fruit growers as a "pollinator" tree in the fruit orchard, because of its "hot" pollen and April bloom time.
