Curtis Apricot
Prunus armeniaca 'Curtis'
Curtis Apricot is a very attractive golden color with a red blush. The fruit is medium sized and good eating. It is freestone and ripens one to two weeks after Chinese, late in the season.
Curtis was discovered in Charlotte, Michigan in 1942 and selected and tested by Dr. Stanley Johnston (of Redhaven fame!) and introduced in 1967. It is a good backyard fruit, but not high enough quality for commercial success.
