Malus domestica 'Carroll'

Carroll is a very hardy apple that ripens early in the summer season.  It is a somwwhat dwarfish tree but produces well.  It is an excellent dessert apple and also a good cooking apple.  The fruit is red, medium sized.

Carroll was bred in Morden, Manitoba, Canada and introduced in 1961.  It is reported to have survived as low as -50 without occasional damage.
