Bell pear is a new release.  It has excellent flavor that is well balanced.  The flesh is juicy.  It has an attractive red blush over a greenish-yellow background.  The tree is vigorous and fire-blight resistant.  It ripens in Bartlett season.

Bell was released from the USDA-ARS Appalachian Fruit Research Station ans is named in honor of Richard Bell was was the longtime pear breeder there.

Bell is fire-blight resistant.  The tree is vigorous.  It requires another pear for pollination and will pollinate most other pears.
