Grandpa's Choice ™ Superior plum got it's name for a reason! This Japanese x American hybrid was selected for it's extreme size, vigor and hardiness. The tree grows faster and larger than most and has a large, golden fruit that develops a deep red blush. Good fresh or for preserves. Ripens in late mid-season.
Superior is another of the hardy varieties that has come to us out of the University of Minnesota breeding program.
Superior is very hardy , prolific and vigorous. Should be pollinated by another hybrid plum or Japanese plum.
