Red King Red Flesh™ is one of the newest and most exciting red-flesh apples Grandpa has seen. The fruit is dark red in color witth matching dark red flesh. The flavor is very tasty, sweet and pleasant. It is good for both fresh eating and for coloring your cider a pink color.
Red King Red Flesh™ was discovered in Michigan and is presumed to be a seedling of Neidzwetzkyana apple which is similar in color, but terribly bitter in flavor.
Niedzwetzkyana Crab was a red-fleshed crab from the Etter program. The fruit is large, with red skin and red flesh throughout. The tree is very vigorous and ripens in late-mid season.
Red King Red Flesh is presumed to be scab susceptible and susceptible to other apple disease. It sets well and can be pollinated by most mid-season varieties.
