Red Rebel is a light yellow skinned apple that is overlaid with deep dark red, making it a beautiful Southern variety. It has a crisp, yellow flesh and fine subacid flavor.
Originating in Virginia around 1850, the Red Rebel was thought to have been lost until Joyce Neighbors of Gadsden, Alabama found an old tree that had been planted in the 1930's.
Highly disease resistant. Ripens late fall.
