Etter's Crimson Gold is a medium to large, greenish yellow apple that ripens to a clear golden color at maturity. Its flesh remains crisp and juicy even after months in storage, and it has excellent eating and cooking quality.
One of the first seedling varieties developed by Albert Etter in Humboldt County, CA through a cross of Wagener x Transcendent Crab, it was originally named Allgold.
Annual producer with spur-type growth habits. Outstanding productivity but requires cross-pollination. 600 chill hours. Known to produce good fruit near the coast. Midseason ripening.
