Comice pear is a premium dessert pear with rich, juicy, firm, sweet, fine-textured flesh. Fruit is large, broad based, narrow necked and greenish yellow with a red blush and light russet. This erratic cropper has large, very vigorous trees. Ripens late in the season after Bosc.
Outstanding winter pear that originated in Angers, France. It is mostly grown in the west and areas with long seasons.
Comice can be an erratic cropper, so be patient. It can come into bearing slowly. Requires a good polinator.
