- Hardiness Zone & More
Vanier Japanese plum is a nice bright red plum with high quality, orangish-yellow flesh. It is semi-clingstone and only medium sized. It ripens in mid-summer with Wickson and Satsuma.
Vanier was released in Ontario in 1983 as a replacement for the Burbank plum.
Vanier requires pollination from other Japanese plums. Santa Rose, Burbank, Ozark Premier and most wild Myrobalan plums will suffice.
