- Summary
- Hardiness Zone & More
Kristin Dark Sweet Cherry is known for being one of the hardiest cherries. It does well in Zone 5 and in the milder parts of Zone 4. It has large dark purplish fruit approaching 1 inch, which is meaty, juicy and tasty. It is a good producer and is recommended for tough sweet cherry growing areas. It ripens early in the season with Schmidt, Van, and EMperor Francis.
Kristin was developed at the New York Experiment Station in Geneva, NY and well tested as far as Montana and Norway. It was named in Norway where it did so well, so it is a world traveler.
