Baked Apples

Where To Cook: preheat oven to 350 F
Ingredients:
- ROME APPLE:
- ¼ cup brown sugar
- Handful of raisins
- ½ Tbsp butter
- Hot Nutmeg Sauce, see recipe below
HOT NUTMEG SAUCE:
- ½ cup sugar
- 1 cup boiling water
- 1 Tbsp cornstarch
- 2 Tbsp butter
- dash salt
- dash nutmeg or cinnamon
- 1 ½ Tbsp lemon juice
Directions:
Carefully remove core of apples and puncture side of apples with a knife for ventilation.
Stuff in raisins, next brown sugar, top with butter (Or you can slice your apples and put in a buttered baking dish, top with brown sugar, butter and raisins). and place in baking dish at 350 degrees F. for 25 to 35 minutes or until apple is soft.
HOT NUTMEG SAUCE:
In saucepan combine, sugar, cornstarch, salt and nutmeg, gradually add water. Cook over low heat until thick and clear. Blend in butter and lemon juice. Serve over baked apple. Makes 1 ½ cups sauce.

Serving Information:
Pour Hot Nutmeg Sauce over hot baked apple and serve. Fill with your favorite nut meats, dried fruits, streusel mix
