Honeystar is a new yellow plum from South Africa that ripens 4-7 days before Shiro.  The skin and flesh are bright yellow.  The flavor is sweet with a slight tartness at the skin.  The tree produces firm-flesh fruits that sie similar to Shiro.

Honeystar requires pollination from other Japanese plums.
