Bosc- Golden Russet® Pear
Pyrus communis 'Golden Russet® Bosc'
- Summary
- Hardiness Zone & More
Golden Russet® Bosc Pear is a sport of the Bosc Pear and is long and symmetrical with a uniform, golden russet. It's flesh is yellowish-white and ripens about the same time as Anjou. The trees are large and vigorous.
Discovered on the Fuki Orchard near Parksdale, OR. Since ordinary Bosc is not totally russeted, this mutation with more complete russetting and a more golden-bronze color is highly attractive.
Similar in growth to regular Bosc in all ways, except fruit appearance. Treat and grow like a regular Bosc.
