Malus domestica 'Snowsweet'
- Summary
- Hardiness Zone & More
Snowsweet™ is a new apple from Minnesota which ripens about two weeks after Honeycrisp™. It most outstanding feature is its flavor, which is described as sweet with a tart balance and rich overtones, almost buttery. The tree is extremely hardy and will grow well in cold climates. The fruit is large, oblate, with a beautiful red-bronze blush over a greenish yellow background.
Snowsweet™ is one of the newest introductions from the University of Minnesota, where Honeycrisp™ came from. It was known as MN 1797.
Snowsweet™ is a moderately vigorous tree with a somewhat droopy character. The tree is an productive annual producer. It does not seem to be very susceptible to fire blight. Pollinate with other mid and late season blooming apples.
