Russet Baldwin is similar to a regular Baldwin apple but with russeting. It is a good all-purpose apple, that adds body, spiciness and aroma to ciders.

A russet-fruited mutation of the Baldwin apple discovered in Pennsylvania in the 1930's. The fruit and tree are indistinguishable from Baldwin, except the fruit surface is totally russeted.

Large, vigorous,slow to bear, hardy tree that tends to bear biennially, so timely pruning and thinning is important. A triploid apple that needs to pollinization from another variety. Its pollen is sterile and cannot be used to pollinize other trees. Ripens mid to late October.
