The Ribston Pippin is a classic dessert apple in England - one of the best for eating, cooking and cider. It has a yellow flushed bright orange fruit with red blush, often sprinkled with a russet webbing at its base and apex. It makes up for its unattractive exterior with a hard, crisp, fine grained, extrememly sugary flesh that offers a fine, rich flavor and a pleasant aroma.

Originated in Yorkshire, England around 1700. Parent of Cox's Orange Pippin.

Ribston Pippin is a triploid variety and has sterile pollen which means it needs another pollinator and cannot be used to pollinate any other apples. Do not use another triploid since triploid apples have sterile pollen. Medium size tree with fair storage ability. Ripens September to October, depending on location.
