  • »  Liberty is a very good multi-disease resistant apple for the backyard orchard.

Grandpa's Nature Friendly™ Liberty is very similar to appearance to McIntosh, but its flavor is more tart and its flesh is crisper. It has a flavor all its own. It is a good dependable choice for any backyard orchard because it is highly productive and resistant to all the major apple diseases.

Liberty was introduced from the Geneva Experiment Station in 1978. It has Macoun in its parentage.

Liberty is one of the easiest apples to grow. The tree is vigorous and spreading and easily trained. It will produce consistent crops year after year, and is one of the earliest apples to bloom in the spring.
