Mount Royal is very hardy bluish-black freestone plum. It is meaty, tender, sweet and juicy. It is good for all uses, including drying as prunes. It ripens in mid-season in late August. One of the best and hardiest plums for the backyard.
Mount Royal was discovered by W.W. Dunlop in Quebec, Canada in 1913. Its parentage is unknown.
Mount Royal is a vigorous and productive tree. It is a good pollinator for other european plums.
