Malus z Humbolt Crab - Humbolt Flowering Crab

Humbolt Flowering Crab

Malus z 'Humbolt Crab'

The Humbolt Crab was orginally named the Jumbo Transcendent, indicating both its crab apple lineage but also the size of the small apple or very large crab apple fruit which is a yellowish cream flesh with a shiny transparent skin. Masses of 2"-3" blossoms that are fragrant and tinted pink can be found in Spring and the crabapples will hang on the tree like "Christmas ornaments" long after it ripens in September!

A crab hybrid selected by Albert Etter for its ornamental qualities.
