Early Elberta Peach
Prunus persica 'Early Elberta'
The Early Elberta is an early sport of one of America's most popular varieties, the Elberta peach. Ripening about one week before Elberta, it is also a large, oblong fruit with yellow skin blushed with light red. Its fine grained, yellow, freestone flesh and sweet, rich flavor make it an excellent canning variety.
Early Elberta is an early ripening sport of the world famous Elberta peach and was introduced in 1907 by Summer Gleason of Kaysville, Utah and Stark Brothers Nurseries of Louisiana, Missouri.
