Sierra Beauty is a large, blocky, handsome apple with greenish yellow skin, striped or blushed in red. An excellent eating or cooking apple, it has juicy, very crisp, moderately sweet flesh with a rich, tart, sprightly flavor which makes it a good seller in farm markets.

Sierra Beauty is an old California variety dating back to 1890 which probably originated in California. It is still a favorite late season apple that is commercially grown in Anderson Valley in Mendocino County, CA.

Tends toward biennial bearing, so thin heavily for more consistant crops. Self-fruitful. 700-800 chill hours. Good keeper. Ripens in September or October.
