Bulmer's Norman is a great variety for those wanting to make hard cider. Its sweet, astringent juice quickly ferments into a mild bittersweet cider with a hard, bitter tannin. Its fruit is green-yellow.

Once popular for producing stock for standard trees, it was known as a "stem builder' by the English. Originated in France and moved into England in the early 1900's.

Biennial bearing tendency. Triploid. Scab susceptible. Large spreading tree. Blooms early. Ripens mid-October. Hardy to -40 degrees without serious injury.
