Shinko is a late ripening Asian pears that is one of the best keepers.  It ripens from early to mid-October.  The fruit is medium sized with russeted skin over a greenish background.  The flesh is firm and crisp with a rich and sweeet flavor.  Will pollinate with Bartlett and most other Asian pears.

Asian pears are best pollinated with other asian pears.  It is best to plant two different varieties.  Sometimes European pears will also pollinate them.
