
Douglas Pear
Pyrus communis 'Douglas'
Douglas pear is fire blight proof and disease resistant. The fruit is golden yellow, sweet, juicy, and white fleshed. It is best used fresh. The tree is very precocious, often fruiting the first year after planting. Good for areas where pear growing is difficult.
Douglas originated in Kansas about 1897.
