
Rival Apricot
Prunus armeniaca 'Rival'
Rival apricot is an early-mid-season apricot with large, attractive light orange fruit with a red blush. The flesh is firm, fine textured and deep orange with a mild, sub-acid flavor. The tree is vigorous and productive and hardier than Wenatachee Moorpark. It ripens ahead of Wenatchee.
Rival was bred in Prosser, Washington by the Washington State Ag Experiment Station and USDA. It was introduced in 1971.
