Black Tartarian Cherry is an excellent dark, juicy, sweet cherry for the backyard orchard. It is an early bearer, and an excellent producer of good crops of sweet, full flavored cherries. It is an excellent pollinator for other sweet cherries. It ripens early in the season.

Black Tartarian was once one of the most widely produced sweet cherries, but fell out of favor when growers had to start shipping them long distances, as it was a little too juicy. Grandpa used to raise these on the old farm.
