A Little HistoryRed Clapp's pear originated as a red sport of Clapp's Favorite about 20 miles from Grandpa's home near the town of South Haven, Michigan It was discovered in 1939 and is often referred to as Kalle pear, being named after Adrian Kalle who found it.
