Pyrus communis 'Kieffer' Homeowner Growing and Maintenance TipsKieffer is almost immune from fire blight. It is one of the few self-fruitful pears, so single trees will set great crops. It will also make a good pollinator for other pears that do need another variety to pollinate. Kieffer will grow almost anywhere and be a good producer for even the most inexperienced bakyard fruit grower.
